Recovery (Ezekiel 3:14-15)

First glance birthed jealous thoughts
of awe filled recovery
After glory filled encounter
But later thoughts reveal
Less palatable possibilities

Days filled with questioning
Reconciling what was with what is
Learning how to exist with self-confidence
After receiving unbridled grace
And exceptional calling

Perhaps no pleasant processing
But a tearing of identity so great
That days were needed
To piece life together
In a way that made sense

What if world turned ash
After heavenly vision
Conversations lacking
The depth desired

Consider the shock
Of all theologies corrected
In one instant
When found standing
In awesome throne room

Is divine vision yet attractive
Does requested presence seem safe
Is self ready to be denied
Identity prepared for the breaking

Awkward

Odd
How father
Fights like child
When lied about
and called false names
Do awkward love
and greatest strength
Pose challenges for omnipotence
Or have we progressed
So far as to deny
Emotion and action
Which were meant
As righteousness

Small Town Encounters

Small town encounters
Force life reflection

As eyes meet in passing
Memory shock waves hit

Here we live with the past
Those who can't have run

Friendships, acquaintances, enemies
All in close proximity

Lives continually bonded
In memory moments
And chance meetings
